Things to look forward to: My week with E, beach-side, from Monday through Thursday. I got an offer for the job, but it foils my Autumnal travel plans, only because I need to maintain the 37.5 hours for 90 days to earn the health insurance benefit. I was told you have your choice of three plans, and due to my lack of health insurance as of December 31st, and earning it there as of December 1st, it seems to be a lovely solution to that problem. So the spa is my new employer. They have a corporate office downtown NYC. Thanks to my friend Anne, I got her referral there so I now have a flexible, low stress work environment which will also allow me to bartend to earn maximum money. I am one of those people more inspired by having less free time as opposed to more. That whole ideology of needing to be busy to feel the urgency is definitely a relevant work issue with me. Obviously this new job does not explore the full breadth of my potential. But, it will be nice next year when I do need that flexibility to have it already. And to work in a position and for a company that is based in health and beauty seems to be right in line with certain aspects of myself. Namely, the vain and baby-faced forever girl that digs being pretty now that she is older and past the ugly duckling phase.

My roommate is moving out. Back to Australia because she just couldn’t do the NYC thing. She lasted about 90 days. Sometimes I think I can’t do the NYC thing. But someday that won’t be an issue, and if the opportunity ever arose for me to be in commutable distance but near parks trees and flowers, I would definitely take advantage.

E’s band is really taking off. They are playing the post VMA party next weekend in Miami beach. Then they are off to Europe to headline a tour in September/October. He spoke last night on a panel about managing bands in Pianos. Apparently he was interviewed and will be featured in the lifestyle section of the NY Times two Sundays from now. I hope they got a picture of him so I can marvel at his hotness.
